THE LONE TREE, WALES.

The Description

Navigating the quiet dark of the A470, I rolled out of Blaenau Ffestiniog well before first light. It was an effortless drive that landed me at Llyn Padarn's Maes Parcio Padarn with plenty of time to spare. A thick layer of cloud covered the sky and showed no signs of breaking, which gave me the freedom to slow down and scout the shoreline for the tree. Setting up my equipment, I was struck by the quiet drama of the location. It wasn’t going to be a morning of blazing colours; instead, the scene offered a stark, almost monochromatic beauty, with the dead-calm water perfectly mirroring the tree in the cool morning light.
